In March 2023, Slovenia and Georgia joined the ground-breaking news service ‘A European Perspective’. This brings the total number of media organizations involved in this pan-European networked newsroom to 18 in 15 countries.

In a fragmented and polarized society, ‘A European Perspective’ brings a sense of shared experience among audiences. The core objective of the project is to share news stories across borders. This brings perspectives, insights and can inspire solutions to the many big issues that the public is facing, from the climate crisis, to war, to the cost of living and the current banking crisis.

“It is important for GPB to join this project, especially because of the digital innovation. We look forward to sharing stories from all over Europe with the Georgian audience,” Tinatin Berdzenishvili, Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) stated.

“At Radiotelevizija Slovenija, we have been watching ‘A European Perspective’ go from strength to strength and have been very keen to get involved, so finally building up the right resources to join is a huge achievement. I am so pleased that soon our website will share news directly from the other partners in the project.” Anže Ančimer, Head of Multimedia Center Radiotelevizija Slovenija.

Part of ‘A European Perspective’s’ radical inclusion is also a commitment to reach audiences in their native language, thanks to EuroVOX and its AI translation tools. Recently, the newsfeeds have expanded to include both Czech and Lithuanian, offering access to news from across the continent. With these new languages, the project becomes more inclusive and expands the total number of languages covered to 10.

Audiences have also been empowered to share A European Perspective’s news stories on social media. The new sharing function empowers the public to share news from different countries. This begins to create an international dialogue that brings societies closer together via trusted news content.

The project has also begun to reach out to younger audiences on social media with EurUp, which features news stories that appeal to younger audiences' interests. Young people are empowered to think critically about the news they pick up. These new audiences are discovering trusted news providers throughout Europe as the project expands into new countries, creating a reliable journalism network that resonates with citizens.
