As Executive Programme 2014 alumni Kai Gniffke prepares for his new role as director general of SWR, the 6^th edition of EBU Academy’s Executive programme has started in Barcelona.

25 participants from 20 organizations attended the first part of the course at the IESE Business School in Barcelona to follow in the footsteps of successful alumni such as Dr. Yvette Gerner, who recently became Director of Radio Bremen.

The programme, targeted at Senior Media Executives, helps professionals build and implement strategies for the future. They discover the latest major developments in media, developing new opportunities and leadership skills to drive innovation.

The first module includes lectures on strategy, developing a digital mind-set and creating value in a service industry. The Financial Times has ranked IESE number one for custom programmes for the fifth consecutive year and also placed the institution first overall in the world for executive education.

This year's intake includes the Directors General of ERR and MTVA. It also welcomes participants from the BBC, France TV, ARD, YLE, VRT, SSR SRG, SR and the EBU.

The next modules will be held in Los Angeles and New York in September and November.
