The EBU is delighted to announce that Polish Member Telewizja Polska (TVP), winners of this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest, will host the 17th Contest in 2019.

It will be the first time. since the Contest began in 2003, that the competition will be held in Poland. TVP previously hosted Eurovision Young Dancers in 2013.

Poland was victorious at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest with 13 year-old Roksana Węgiel crowned the winner after her song, "Anyone I Want to Be", scored an impressive 215 points.

The 2019 Host Country announcement follows a record breaking Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018, hosted by Belarusian Member BTRC, at the Minsk Arena with 20 participating countries, which is the highest number in the competition’s history.

Jon Ola Sand, the EBU’s Head of Live Events said: “We are delighted to announce Poland as our Host Country, and TVP as our Host Broadcaster, for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 and once again congratulate Roksana Węgiel on her spectacular winning performance at this year’s Contest.

"It is always exciting to bring the event to a new Host Country for the first time, and we look forward to seeing TVP’s vision for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 come to life over the forthcoming year."

The President of TVP, Jarek Kurski added: ""From the beginning, I said that TVP is ready to take on this challenge. We are prepared organizationally, but also creatively. I am convinced that Junior Eurovision in 2019 will be remembered for years - just like the amazing performance of Roksana Węgiel, which will definitely go down in the history of the competition.

"However, from today we do not look at the past, we focus only on hard work, to dazzle the audience in 2019 exactly as Roxana did in Minsk. TVP is a team of wonderful, creative people who love new challenges, and this is one of the most interesting things they have ever faced."

EBU Members are now given the opportunity to apply to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and Poland’s application was judged to be the best. More details on the organization for next year's event, including the host city, will be released in due course.
