Konstantin Kamenarov takes over as BNT DG

Konstantin Kamenarov has been appointed the new director general of Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

51 year-old Kamenarov graduated in medicine but in 1992 began his career at BNT as a reporter on "In the world and our country". Over the next 7 years he worked as a news anchor and then editor of the political show “Panorama” before becoming head of TV channel, Efir 2.

Following a period working as a government spokesman and in public relations he returned to BNT as director of operations between 2011 and 2013.

Kamenarov was elected to lead BNT by the Council of Electronic Media of the Republic of Bulgaria for a term of three years.

On taking up the post he commented: “There is a lot of work to be done and all of us are going to be engaged. We have to think about the legacy we leave.”
