The Chair of PBS, Malta, and EBU Board Member Tonio Portughese has been awarded France's highest honour - the National Order of the Legion of Honour.

Portughese was conferred with the honour in recognition of his long-standing career and promotion of the French, European and universal values of dialogue, diversity and tolerance. The medal was presented by French Ambassador Beatrice Le Fraper Du Hellen who highlighted the contribution Mr Portughese had made to promoting business and cultural relations between France and Malta.

L'ordre national de la Légion d'honneur, the highest French order for military and civil merit, was established in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte and its current Grand Master is President Francois Hollande.
