Eurosonic Festival 2017 kicks off with the best new bands in Europe

10 January 2017

It's that time again: the annual 3-day Eurosonic Festival, which showcases emerging pop-rock talent from across Europe opens on Wednesday 11 January in the northern Dutch city of Groningen.

The EBU has acted as a major partner for 29 years, with its Members broadcasting the festival throughout Europe. Some 26 Euroradio organizations supporting 29 acts will participate in this year's edition, which will include a special focus on Portugal. The live recordings will be available on M2M next week.

With over 350 showcases and more than 4,000 delegates attending the day time conference sessions, this edition promises to be even bigger than before.

As usual, the festival will open with the European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA), which go to emerging European pop acts who enjoy success in Europe outside their own borders.

More information about the EBU supported acts can be found in this press release.
