The EBU has received a huge response to its invitation to tender (ITT) for supporting services around the Eurovision Family of Events.

44 companies from across Europe showed interest in the tender to run IT, web and communications services for the Eurovision Song Contest, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Eurovision Young Musicians and Eurovision Young Dancers.

By the deadline on 18 December nine of those companies had submitted proposals for one or more of the four available packages.

The ITT was put out on 16 October with the original deadline extended by a month to allow the broadest possible field of interested parties to apply.

Companies from four different countries have sent in proposals.

“We are very pleased to see an encouraging number of organisations have submitted bids to work on these four key Media Department events,” said EBU Media Director Jean Philip De Tender.

“This is a fabulous opportunity for specialised companies to work on the world’s biggest music entertainment show, the Eurovision Song Contest, and its important sister events. We are looking forward to examining the bids and are excited about working with the best in the business to build on the success of these events to secure the future of these important brands.”

The next stage of the bidding process takes place in January when a shortlist of candidates will be selected. They will be invited to present their proposals in person at EBU headquarters in Geneva in the second week of the month. The winning bidder(s) will then be selected on 18 January and contracts signed by the end of the month.

The successful bidder(s) will be invited to shadow the preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 between March and May and all contracts will begin on 4 July 2016.
