AUB elects new members

The African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) has elected new board members at the organisation’s 9th General Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria on the 26-27 November 2015.

Mr. Albert Donchebe, Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) was elected the new President of the AUB. Three vice-presidents from Mali, Angola and Algeria were chosen as well.

The General Assembly also elected Mr. Gregoire Ndjaka, from Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) to the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Union.

During the General Assembly, the AUB commended the decision by the ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-15) that UHF spectrum will remain exclusively allocated to terrestrial TV services well into the next decade.

The General Assembly congratulated out-going President and Chief Executive officer Mr. Tewfik Khelladi and Mr. Lawrence Atiase respectively, for their commitment and leadership of the Union.
