The Eurosonic Group is made up of EBU radio producers and managers specialized in pop/rock. It develops and launches projects with festivals, artists and record companies. Special events featuring the likes of Coldplay, Nick Cave, Black Keys, Radiohead, and many others have been made available. Major anniversaries and music milestones are also celebrated by showcasing EBU broadcasters’ outstanding archives.
The Group has forged an enduring partnership with Europe’s biggest showcase festival, Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), which takes place in Groningen (The Netherlands). EBU radio stations select and sponsor up-and-coming acts to perform at the Eurosonic Festival, hosted by ESNS.
The Eurosonic Group supports and promotes pop in all its various forms, and makes the case for the role played by public service broadcasting across the music industry.
The EBU Eurosonic Group is one of the signatories of the 2022–2023 EBU Music Unit Workplan.
