Public Service Broadcasting: distinctiveness through diversity
The distinctiveness of public service radio/music channels is largely expressed through the diversity of their programming. A broad range of artists is featured on the air thanks to public radio programmers, allowing them not only to grow and connect with their fan base but also to find new audiences. In that sense, music programming by public service broadcasting (PSB) remains central and unique for the music sector in most places. During this session, we’ll hear from audience research experts about what diversity of programming means for their organization and how they position their output in the larger national broadcast landscape.
