Over many years, the Eurovision TV Assembly has developed as the essential meeting place for senior TV executives.

This assembly provides a unique opportunity for TV directors and decision-makers to discuss key ideas and strategies in TV management, production and programming. The 2016 TV Assembly will be hosted by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR).

The emphasis is both strategic and practical, and members will be encouraged to share real dilemmas which they face in the changing media environment. Building on the success of last year, we continue to improve our Eurovision TV Assembly and include keynote presentations addressing crucial topics that matter in the media environment, case studies from industry experts, our famous Proud-to-present session and an update on EBU internal matters.

Maximizing contribution by public service media to society

During the Assembly, for the first time, radio and television colleagues will come together for a joint session exploring issues of common interest.

The focus here will be on how public service media can gain credit and recognition for the contribution our services make to society; this will be presented through internal and external viewpoints.  Alongside discussion of how organizations can best develop their advocacy for public service, there will be the opportunity to learn about programming which demonstrates the public purposes of EBU member organizations.

Both the TV and Radio Assemblies will be preceded by a joint Welcome Reception on Wednesday 20 April at 18:30 at the Bar Rouge on the 31st floor of the Ramada Plaza Conference Center in Basel.
