The EBU is part of a broad coalition from the European media sector that has responded to the European Parliament’s vote on the Digital Markets Act.

In a joint statement, the coalition says the agreement reached by the European Parliament reflects the political vision required to preserve a diverse, vivid and innovative media landscape. However, the statement also calls on the co-legislators to fix loopholes including access to data, combination of personal data, and tying and bundling. These loopholes could undermine effective competition in the supply of media content to European audiences.
