Macedonia training academy celebrates first graduates
Les diplômé.e.s 2019 de la formation avancée au journalisme

In a graduation ceremony chaired by Goran Atanasov, Chief Administration officer of MRT, the first graduates of Macedonia's Radio and Television Advanced Journalism course were presented with their diplomas today. The programme was organized by MRT international department, in partnership with the EBU Academy.

Ten journalists completed eight courses on topics such as Investigative Journalism, Mobile Journalism and Web and Social Media Reporting.

To create this course, seven Senior Journalists from MRT were coached and trained by EBU Academy to become trainers. In the curriculum which started in March 2019, they learned how to define learning objectives, design practical exercises and organize a course for professionals.

Macedonian journalist Jona Burcheska Filipovska was one of the students who graduated: "The trainers were extremely well-prepared, the presentations were very thorough and picturesque, and the students were open and always developed passionate discussions. The enthusiasm we had for all of this proves not only how successful the academy was, but also how necessary it was. We are thirsty for more!"

The students were helped by the EBU Academy and a journalism trainer from the Academy of Bulgaria National Radio to design their own interesting and practical course content for MRT Professionals. As a result of their work, MRT trainers received the 'EBU Academy Trainer' diplomas.

The programme will continue in 2020.
