The EBU has congratulated Viktor Baumeler who has been elected new interim President of the Swiss public broadcaster SRG SSR.

Baumeler who was president of the regional broadcaster SRG Swiss German from 2008 to 2015, will act as interim President for a temporary period until 2017. During the summer, former SRG SSR president Raymond Loretan, announced his resignation for a career in politics. Baumeler is a member of the SRG Board of Directors and will act as president until a new candidate is elected for the position.
