The Rose d’Or Awards have attracted a record number of submissions for the second consecutive year - highlighting the continued and growing importance the entertainment industry places in the competition.

Eurovision and Euroradio, organizers of the prestigious international awards, announced that 377 television and 82 radio entries had been received by the closing date. In only its second year, the radio competition has seen submissions increase by over 150% - up from 31 in 2014. The number of television entries has risen too from 345 last year.

The Awards, to be announced in a ceremony in London on 9 December, define the gold standard of excellence and achievement in television, online and radio entertainment programme making.

The event was re-launched by Eurovision, operated by the European Broadcasting Union, in 2013 and has grown year on year.

“This year-on-year increase in entries to the Rose d’Or is a testament to its importance on the international stage,” said the EBU’s Media Director Jean Philip De Tender. “The Rose d’Or rewards distinctive, high quality entertainment programming, and we’re proud, as the EBU, that media houses across the globe want to be part of it.”

There are six categories for television and online video – Arts, Factual & Reality Entertainment, Game Show, Comedy, Sitcom, and Entertainment, and five categories covering radio – Comedy, Entertainment Event (Multimedia), Game Show, Music Show and Talk Show.

The juries are made up of separate judging panels for each category and include professionals renowned for their knowledge and experience within the media world.

This year's Rose d'Or Awards ceremony will take place on 9 December, 2015 at the Clore Centre in the British Museum, London.
