EBU welcomes new Head of Radio

The EBU has welcomed its new Head of Radio Graham Dixon. Graham started work in Geneva in mid-September; his predecessor Christian Vogg left the EBU on 1 October.

UK born Graham Dixon joins the EBU from the BBC where he was Managing Editor of the cultural network BBC Radio 3.  He has previously chaired both the EBU’s Music Group and the Euroradio Users Group, and has organised and participated in many projects and activities.

"The EBU embodies the belief that broadcasters are stronger working together than alone," said Dixon. "At the BBC, I was well aware of the benefits the EBU brought to the organisation. My first weeks here have enabled me to meet representatives of many organisations working in a variety of areas."

Aside from attending the Radio Committee which provides strategic oversight for radio activities, Graham Dixon has been part of the New Radio Group, the International Relations Plenary and the Music Group.

"Between them," he said, "these meetings underline the importance of envisaging innovative, contemporary radio, on modern devices; the extraordinary value of creating a forum for mutual learning and exchange, and the fact that excellent, distinctive content needs to be at the heart of the offer."

"I look forward to working with members to develop and refresh our proposition in these areas," he added.
