For the first time ever, Euroradio will mark UNESCO's International Jazz Day on 30 April with a series of special concerts.

International Jazz Day brings together musicians, jazz enthusiasts and students throughout the world to celebrate and learn about jazz and its roots.

As part of the festivities, some 11 EBU broadcasters will be contributing jazz programmes, available to EBU Members as part of the 2015-2016 Euroradio Season’s Jazz Day.

Contributions range from works and arrangements by Quincy Jones played by Sweden’s Norrbotten Big Band (pictured) or the saxophonist Stan Sulzmann and his quartet in Aberdeen, to the young Polish violinist Adam Baldych, performing his own works and backed by the NDR Big Band.

The following Euroradio Members are offering content for the Jazz Day:

BBC (UK)
BNR (Bulgaria)
CR (Czech Republic)
ERT (Greece)
NDR (Germany)
NTU (Ukraine)
ORF (Austria)
RAI (Italy)
RTVS (Slovenia)
SR (Sweden)
YLE (Finland)
