2012 New Talent from Denmark

The 2012 edition of the New Talent Competition for young musicians under 30 has come to a close, revealing the young Danish accordionist Bjarke Mogensen as the 2012 New Talent.

Eight candidates competed in two semi-final concerts on Friday, 5 October 2012. These concerts were offered for live relay from Bratislava as part of the Euroradio music exchange. At the end of the second semi-final concert, three candidates were selected for the final round:

  • Báling Mohai, bassoon (Hungary)
  • Soo-Jung Ann, piano (Spain)
  • Bjarke Mogensen, accordion (Denmark)

As part of the 2012-2013 Euroradio Season, the final concert was broadcast live from the Slovak Philharmonic Concert Hall in Bratislava on Monday night, 8 October 2012, and relayed by 11 EBU Radio Member organizations for the pleasure of over two million radio listeners throughout Europe. The three young soloists were accompanied by the Slovak State Philharmonic Orchestra of Kosice under Leos Svárovský.
